Materials: Antique brass plated tea kettle, copper handle

On sale! Great rustic brass plated tea kettle with a copper handle, purchased at a flea market in Belgium in the 1960s. This large tea kettle is hand made and unmarked and dates to the early 20th or 19th century. The finial on the lid is a particularly charming curled strip. The handle is a hollow copper tube; it moves easily but gets a little hung up on the spout when raised. The kettle has some dents and wear, especially around the spout, and an uneven patina with some darker areas and drips from polishing and a little rust around the rim of the lid (see photos). It's a great primitive piece for display but leaks a little.

Size: 10 inches wide x 9 inches deep x 7.25 inches tall (with handle down)

I really love my watermelon basket! I love these so much. I recall when they came out. I bought my first one that I adored at a tiny shop filled with wonderful things in it called Ninepatch in Berkeley, CA. I grew up in Berkeley. I had no idea that these watermelon baskets were sold everywhere. I guess I thought back then that they were only sold in one of my favorite little shops! I am now trying to find other shapes as well..like the long versions of them! They are adorable. I have "collections of collections" as my husband likes to always say! 😄 I love trinket boxes so, ...even teeny tiny or just small boxes make me happy!
