Here is an attractive Johnnie Walker change dish or tips dish made of lilac-coloured, or purple, milk glass. This item was acquired in France. It was manufactured there. Moulded on the base is MAGNIER BLANGY and MADE IN fRANCE . I believe it dates from the 1960s.
There is a depiction of the famous Johnnie Walker character in the bottom of the dish striding forth in his riding habit, and the motto, SINCE 1820 STILL GOING STRONG. The colour of the milk glass is a bit warmer than the photos seem to show.
This attractive little souvenir could also be used as a key tray or perhaps a coaster for your whisky glass. It's in very good condition with no chips or cracks and the printed character is not rubbed at all. A great advertising collectable!
There are two dishes available. One dish has no moulded lettering although there is a faint impression where it just touched the mould. The other dish has the two moulded marks separated, rather than one under the other as in the second photo. (The photos are of a previously sold dish.) It also has a very tiny shallow chip on the base near the inscription. It doesn’t affect the look of the dish at all. I will send a photo if required.
