A very sensual pair of garnet earrings in the shape of raspberries, set in a domed rose gold gilded octagonal base with a French or omega back.

This is quite an unusual pair of earrings resembling raspberries, with garnets pavé set in a domed base (in the shape of an umbrella), made in rose gold gilded 900 silver.

The rosé hue of the gilding complements very beautifully with the dark burgundy of the garnets, while the earrings sit upright on the earlobe thanks to the omega back.

The omega back is also called a French clip, patented in the 1970s to ensure that the earrings perk up on the ear and are displayed more prominently, rather than drooping down the front of the earlobe. A very clever invention indeed :)

Another clever feature that demonstrates excellent craftsmanship is a silver ‘plate’ on the bottom side of the dome, which ensures that the garnets remain clean when worn and also protects the ear from twisting into the earring.

The earrings are perfectly preserved, very modern and slick looking, and would add a touch of glamour and elegance to any ensemble.

The earrings measure 20 mm / 0.8 in in diameter across the dome and each weighs 5.9 gr /0.2 oz.
