Maryland Bowling Art --
This print is one of 250 of a my watercolor painting of a vintage bowling alley, circa 1960. The print also features duckpin bowling pins and a ball, and a vintage bag and shoes. This would be an ideal gift for anyone who enjoys retro home decor, and anyone who enjoys bowling. The painting is done from a photograph of the bowling alley in Brunswick, Maryland, which was destroyed by a tornado in the early 1980's.
The print is signed and numbered. It measures 5" x 7" in an ivory or white 8" x 10" matte and comes to you suitable for framing. The print is landscape (horizontal) oriented.
Most of my works are done using a variety of materials -- primarily watercolors, but also pencil, inks and acrylics. I use a color-layering process that I have developed over time. I most often begin with a pencil sketch from a photograph, and then use black ink and black acrylic paint to define lines and heighten dark areas. Watercolor pencils are sometimes used for added definition, and then vibrant tubes of watercolors are used for the bulk of the piece. Most of my original watercolors are in the 9" x 12" range and can take up to twenty hours to complete.
If you like this print, but want a larger size, please contact me. I also offer prints in 11" x 14" mattes. You may also request a different matte color than the one offered here. I'm happy to work with you.
