***** FAQs: ******

1) How do I power the sign? I only have a mains outlet where I want to place the sign.
All you need to do is plug a USB power supply to the mains outlet and plug the sign to it. 35 and 50cm signs requires a USB-A source able to supply 5 Watts (1 Amps) e.g. most phone / tablet chargers, USB wall outlets, power banks. 60 and 80cm signs requires a 10-Watt USB-A source (2 Amps) e.g. most tablet chargers, USB wall outlets, power banks.

2) Can I plug them to a USB-C supply?
Not directly, but we will provide you with a FREE USB-A to USB-C adapter.

3) Do signs have battery?
Signs don't have built-in battery but can still be used off-grid by plugging them to a compatible USB power bank.

4) USB lights vs. Mains/Domestic lights:
USB powered lights can be as bright as mains powered lights and as a general rule of thumb, a 5W USB power supply can operate LED's which can output light equivalent to a 5W mains LED light. We pack plenty LED’s into our backlights to achieve power ranging from 3.5W(35cm signs) to 9W(80cm signs). Each LED also features an individual driver circuit which makes the backlight virtually indestructible.

5) Can I use a USB dimmer?
We keep them simple on/off switch for reliability as dimmer controllers are notorious for being unreliable in the long run, but yes, they can be used with most external USB dimmers. Be sure to purchase a USB dimmer which ONLY lowers the USB output voltage (5-volt or lower) and DOES NOT increase the output voltage as well.

6) 3m length cable is not enough for me:
Total length can be increased with a quality USB-A extension cable of your choice which is able to carry enough USB power (please see FAQ-1 for power requirements). There is no limit on the length but please note that for very long extensions light output will get slightly dimmer because of additional cable resistance.

7) Are signs waterproof for outdoor use?
Signs are not waterproof.

Please note as these are handmade, all dimensions stated can vary very slightly. Colours may appear different on individual monitors and also depends on what setting your device is set to, e.g. day mode or night mode viewing (day mode is recommended).
