After that, just make sure give your candles a nice long burn every so often to “reset” the wax memory and prevent any tunneling. This will keep your candle looking great, smelling great, burning evenly, and all the other great things you want. If you have trouble lighting your candle, trim the burnt black off the wick with clippers, but keep it at least 1/8" long. If candle won't stay lit because of tunneling and it's drowning in the wax, use a paper towel to soak up some of the wax around the wick so it has room to breathe again.

If you have trouble lighting your candle, trim the burnt black off the wood wick with clippers, but keep it at least 1/8" long. If the candle won't stay lit because of tunneling and it's drowning in the wax, use a paper towel to soak up some of the wax around the wick so it has room to breathe again, then once it's lit, leave it for a couple of hours to help the melt pool reach the edges again so it doesn't tunnel further.

Wood wicks are a bit more temperamental, but are so worth it for the crackle, sustainability, and clean burn, and are healthier because they make less soot and won't add additional smoke to your room.* Scent Throw:
