Use wood glue to hold the pieces together.

This design fits for material thickness: 3 - 5 mm.

For manufacturing, you will need 8 magnets with a diameter of 10mm and a thickness of 1mm.

The shape and size of the magnets can be easily changed in any vector editor. Just enlarge or shrink the black circles to the size you want. I used super glue to attach the magnets, it holds them perfectly.
