Natural stone or soapstone

Soapstone is the common name for the mineral steatite which is a combination of at least 50% talc and other minerals metamorphosed into stone by heat and pressure. It is called soapstone because of the soapy feel caused by the talc content. Though gray hues are the most common, the naturally occurring stone is occasionally nuanced with colors, such as blue, pink, copper, or white. Our natural soapstone also features swirls and vein patterns.

Please note that due to the nature of soapstone, there can be slight visual differences between the illustrations and the item you receive.
