Hand Forged Iron Viking Thor's Hammer Pendant on adjustable necklace

This is a Mjolnir necklace for those of you who prefer a less ornate look, something with unique character that can only be forged with hammer that is not cast in its thousands.

I have forged this Thor's hammer pendant out of pure iron, using traditional tools and methods. The simple design was created by my love of Viking history and our experience as re-enactors. In this Thor's hammer I have combined traditional Viking methods such as the ring with modern clean lines, including the distinct ridge on the middle, to create a pendant that is as ageless as the original Mjolnir is. The pendant is suspended onto an adjustable leather necklace allowing you to decide the length.

All our metal work (apart from chains) is made exclusively by either myself or my husband. We do not outsource any part of our work, nor do we sell our work wholesale.

* Each pendant is individually hand forged to order, so minor differences in size, shape and texture may occur.
* The length of the necklace is adjustable from 28 inches down to 16 inches.

Personalisation

We (me and Luke) specialize in hand engraving and silver wire inlay. If you want this pendant to have an additional symbol, rune or inscription, please feel free to contact me for details. There are limits on how complex the design can be due to the space on the pendant. Engraving on iron has to be cut much deeper than on silver. Silver inlay is done by engraving and then filling the recess with solid pure silver wire. Gold is priced on request.

The Story behind this pendant

We spent years creating reproduction work for historical re-enactors, mostly Vikings. I learned to make a simple Mjolnir pendant such as the ones found on amulet rings in Sweden. These Thor's hammer pendants proved very popular, so my husband suggested to create a larger version. This design was created using elements from various historical finds and introducing the ridge onto the middle of the Mjolnir. This feature is now found on many Mjolnirs and is now a modern classic.
