A stunning hand cut and polished welo opal on a rose gold plated ring! This ring was made with electroformed with copper before being plated with a shiny rose gold finish.

Ethiopian Welo Opal - Welo opals were discovered in 2008, making them a relatively new stone. They're found in nodules within volcanic ash. They are hydrophane, which means they are extremely absorbent. If your opal stone comes into contact with liquid, it will immediately absorb that liquid and temporarily lose its flash until it dries. Some find this quality makes them useful for utilizing water energy. Opals can have brilliant flashes of yellow, orange, red, green, purple and blue.

The customer service was excellent! The seller reached out to me before shipping to let me know that shipping had taken a little longer because she wasn’t satisfied with the first attempt at making my ring so she went ahead and sent both even though I had only ordered one. I think both rings are beautiful and now I have a backup! It is still a beautiful ring regardless but just be weary if you do order the antique style it does wear off easily to reveal the shiny copper underneath. It wore off on my first ring so I decided to coat the second one in clear nail polish and it took a little longer but is still starting to wear off. I am still going to wear it though because the stone is beautiful and I got a darker one just like I requested!
