Expecting Grace is an African American woman looking hopefully toward the future. She is against a colorful background, mostly green and white. I like to put words on the canvas before I begin painting. When I started painting Expecting Grace, I was still waiting for the words to come to me. I think it comes across in her expression. She has limitless possibilities ahead of her. The original is painted on canvas in acrylics.

When ordering a print, I strive for a one inch margin all around, so the frame does not cover the painting and I have room to sign and number the print. The shape of the painting dictates two sides of the margin. For a narrow painting, there will be wider margins on two sides.
