What it the difference between odoshi and tsuka ito?

The difference between Odoshi & tsuka is: Tsuka is making with more thread than odoshi and tightly woven. If you use ito for relacing your armor lace, I recommend to use "Odoshi-ito" If you use ito for wrapping your sword hilt, I recommend to use "Tsuka-ito"

How to care silk cord

Silk kumihimo is sensitive to water, so gently wipe it with a soft cloth if it gets dirty. Cotton and polyester kumihimo can be lightly hand-washed. How to finsh the end of silk cord Use glue or tape to finish the ends. Do not fire. It will burn out and do not melt. Please use anti-fray liquid or sew the end of the cord.

What materials are used for kumihimo?

We use materials such as silk, cotton, and polyester. Silk provides a luxurious feel, while cotton and polyester offer durability, making them suitable for casual use. On Etsy, we primarily sell silk kumihimo, but custom orders can be made with acrylic fiber, rayon, and polyester.
