Are antique and vintage items cleaned or polished?

When I acquire an antique or vintage piece, I usually clean and/or polish it thoroughly but carefully. The only exception would be an antique whose value may be related to its state as found. If this were the case for a particular piece, I would clearly explain it in the item description.

How are items prepared for shipping?

Once an item is purchased, I wash it again, then wrap it in packing paper, and then wrap it in two layers of bubble wrap. Then I place it in a box with some cushioning above, below, and on the sides if needed. Before sealing the box, I make sure there is enough packing paper that the item(s) are not moving.

A vintage, unused white cotton tablecloth with both embroidery and hand drawn ladder stitching decoration, and 4 matching napkins. This set was in completely sealed plastic; I literally had to cut one end of the plastic with scissors to get them out to take pictures, so I am certain they have never been used. The tablecloth measures 41 inches square and the napkins measure 11 inches square. The tablecloth could be used as a table topper or alone on a small table. I see no issues with these pieces; they are in excellent condition. An elegant set; would make a beautiful gift. Thanks for looking!
