Size: approx. 86 x 86 cm. Hand-painted, truly unique, one-of-a-kind classic silk square scarf that cannot be re-created again. Square hand-painted and a shibori silk scarf featuring small, subtle Cherry Blossom Tree flowers in a stunning combination of pale pink, magenta pink, and tiny green leaves. Branches are painted in beige and brown. It's made of luxury habotai silk fabric.

First, I hand-dye the background and then paint the ends to achieve a dramatic and intricate look. For my new design, I chose to paint small blossoms growing on the cherry tree every spring. I used ever-so-subtle and feminine shades. The shibori background is dyed in sweet pale pink. The flowers are painted in rose peach pink, divine magenta pink, and pale pink. Spring green and olive green I used to paint the leaves. Branches are painted in watercolours beige, ochre, and dark brown.

A little bit about me:

As a classically trained fine artist, I’ve always been intrigued by the idea of wearable art. So naturally, painting on silk has come as the best idea. Heron Design Studio aims to create such wearable pieces of art that will be timeless and versatile. Every piece that is created is unique.

Every design is sketched first on a piece of paper. That is followed by colours being carefully picked. After that, the scarf is painted (freehand) with no stencils or aids. Small imperfections are just a part of the hand painting process and make the painting unique and unrepeatable. Each of the motives created has a different technique (metallic outliner of watercolour technique etc.), and a different material (different types of silk fabrics) used. That is because suitability is carefully considered.

Care instructions:
– 100% silk
– hand painted motives using special silk dye/paint and outliner
– wash gently in cold water max 30°C - If needed, use a drop of soap - Rinse thoroughly - Wring gently wrapped up in a towel
– iron on the reverse side in low settings preferably still a little bit wet to avoid hard creases
– do not iron on the side of a painting
– all items are pre-washed to avoid the excess of dye/paint coming off

Absolutely beautiful! I bought three scarves in this order. I did want them for gifts, but again- I m keeping them all. Such good quality silk and such amazing artwork. I am so pleased with this one.
