Shipping to the USA (DDP)

We are now shipping out again with our national postal carrier (PostNL) with DDP which means there are no extra custom duties for our US customers. Track and trace is included in the shipment. There might be some custom delays because of the tariffs implementation.

The sizes of each print are displayed within each listing in cm.

How will my items be shipped?

Depends on the size of the item. The bigger prints will be shipped in carton tubes in order to protect them during transit these will have a track and trace code, so you can follow your shipment. Prints until, A4 size will be shipped with a cardboard envelope with a sealbag around the print for protection. These orders do not have track and trace standard. If you require Track and trace for these orders you can purchase separately. We work with a reliable shipping agent, who sends shipments with PostNL and Deutsche Post. Depending on the destination the best shipping carrier will be selected. This means for US shipments PostNL and Lot of EU destinations Deutsche Post. Therefore it may look like your shipment is coming from Germany.

Are the maps and prints you sell original maps?

Yes, all maps and prints we sell in our shop are authentic and original. We do not offer reproductions in our shop. This makes each map a unique piece to own. The maps and prints come from antique books/atlases/collections. Please check the photos of each item carefully as some items have some discolorations, folds, tears. If anything significant it will be mentioned in the advertisement. If you are not happy with the received item you will have the possibility to return the item within 14 days of delivery. Upon request we can provide the first page of the book/publication as a certificate of authentication.

Some maps are over 100 years old. Please take care unboxing as some maps are fragile and printed on thin paper. Best would be to keep the map in the carton tube or package and keep in a dark and dry space until you are going to frame or hang the map. If you are framing the map and you need to attach it to a passe-partout please use acid free tape in order to preserve the print. We do not sell the frames at the moment.

Germany - Verpackungsgesetz (LUCID Packaging Register)

In 2019 Germany’s Packaging Act VerpackG came into effect, imposing requirements on online retailers selling to buyers in Germany. The Packaging Act promotes recycling and reuse of packaging materials (e.g. cardboard boxes, tape, and bubble wrap). My shop Prentenkabinet is registered at the Packaging Register of the Stiftung Zentrale Stelle Verpackungsregister (Foundation Central Agency Packaging Register – ZSVR) with registration number DE5335728430549. My Dual System Licensing partner for the collection, sorting & recycling of the packaging is ACTIVATE by RECLAY. As consumer please ensure that all received packaging is disposed of in the right recycling containers, Blue for all paper

Gift wrapping and packaging

We can write your gift message on a botanical postcard to include with the shipment. We do not offer gift wrapping at the moment. You can order this service when checking out.

What is the year of publication of the prints?

The year of publication should be listed in each listing. Prints are considered antique if more than 100 years old (1924 or earlier) and vintage should be more than 20 years old. Sometimes in the SEO keywords we use both terms interchangeable for search purposes. However, please do note the difference. If you are in doubt of the year of publication and if a print is antique or vintage please reach out to us.

Buyers are responsible for any tariffs, duties, and fees that may apply. We are not responsible for any custom related delays. This excluded the USA shipments where we ship DDP which means no duties and tariffs for our customers.

New EU product safety laws (GPSR) require that I include specific safety information for items like these prints when sold in their packaging. Here is the required information: All prints poses no known safety risks. As a safety precaution, please keep the plastic sleeve out of the reach of children.
