Bayong is a hardwood that grows in the Philippines. It is durable, making it long wearing and suitable for jewelry. The natural color is a warm red-brown, with a lovely wood grain pattern that can be easily seen, but you'll find some variation from light to dark red-brown shades. Lightweight and very smooth to the touch, these particular beads have an understated polish which allows them to retain a very natural and organic appearance. You'll see a soft sheen from the wood as the beads are rolled around in the light.
Note: The color of Bayong wood can vary, and your beads may be slightly lighter or darker than the pictured strands.
