Antiquarian Tsarist oval porcelain serving platter was produced at the end of the 19th century by the Partnership of the Russian industrialist and entrepreneur Matvey Sidorovich Kuznetsov.
The platter is made of snow-white glazed porcelain in a minimalist style with delicate sky-blue edges. An oval fish platter is necessary for serving portioned fish appetizers and salads, slices and hot dishes. The elongated form allows serving whole carcasses and balyks without damaging them.
"MS Kuznetsov's Partnership for the Production of Porcelain, Earthenware and Majolica Products" is one of the largest porcelain and earthenware industries in the Russian Empire at the end of the 19th - beginning of the 20th centuries. It was founded on September 29, 1887 by a Russian industrialist and businessman from the Kuznetsov family, Matvey Sidorovich Kuznetsov, and existed until 1917, when most of the enterprises were nationalized.
It is marked with a stamp in the form of a two-headed eagle, a symbol of tsarist Russia. Kuznetsov's manufactory had the right to use the state emblem in a trademark. This characteristic stamp of the Partnership refers to the period of production in 1889-1917.
