Peruvian Opal Ring, Handmade Natural Opal Choose Your Own Stone 925 Sterling Silver Artis Translucent Andean Chilean Stone

Choose your Own Stone and Size Custom Handmade Statement Rings are made from Natural Peruvian Opal from the Andes Mountains and are completely in their natural state except for polishing to bring out the amazing beauty. We cut and polished each of these cabochons ourselves in our little shop in the White Mountains in Arizona.

All rings ordered will have a 925 Sterling Silver sturdy handmade split band(pic) that will keep the ring from spinning around your finger and will hold the stone on top of your hand always visible! Each ring will be handcrafted with the same plain bezel(as pictured) so that the beauty of the stone is the focus!
Check out our signature tiny moose stamp(on every ring ordered) on the back with the "sterling" stamp!

To create our rings, first we source the rough stone(from the world famous Tucson Gem Show) then cut and polish each stone. We then make the custom bezel to perfectly fit the stone, then we add the band that we've made from our reclaimed Sterling Silver.
Since these rings are custom, if you decide to return it, there will be a handling fee applied with the credit.

All rings will weigh about 12 grams, slightly more or less depending on size of stone, etc. The Pure Sterling Silver band was recycled, using our technique below:

Reclaimed Sterling Silver Process:
To reclaim the metal in this ring we melt scrap sterling silver left after from other jewelry making and tufa cast it into ingots that are rolled through a hand rolling mill to create square square wire or flat sheets. That wire or sheet is cut to size and hand shaped using hammers and anvils. The last photo shows the pouring of a tufa cast item. Tufa stone is a natural soft white stone that can be carved in relief to form a cavity to cast hot metal into. Designs are carved for rings, pendants and bracelets, but mostly we cast ingots and reshape into wire or sheet stock to make other beautiful one of a kind creations and original jewelry pieces. One thing about reclaimed sterling is that it gives a rustic look as there is always more impurities in the mix than commercially purchased sheet and wire. We add back some 999 fine pure silver to get the purity back up to 925 standards, but the look is always less glitzy than its' commercially produced cousin. If you want that extra shiny glitzy look this piece of jewelry is not for you, it will always look more handmade than factory made jewelry which is likely handmade. The big manufacturers have more sophisticated equipment that can control the process more precisely. That is one way you can tell a small shop creation apart from a mass produced one.
