Custom and personalized orders

Letterpress printing is a very time and labor intensive process that involves setting up and inking the press manually, registering the plates or type, printing each color one pass at a time and then cleaning everything up. This doesn't include the time and expense it takes to construct each print, which in the case of our maps involves drawing nearly every detail of the map by hand, and creating a custom made relief plate. We are a very small company (just husband and wife) and the products we present to you here are truly handmade, and handmade inherently takes some time. Since we have many designs that we are trying to complete we unfortunately don't have time to get to requests for one custom print.

Van Isle! This is an original map hand drawn and printed in house on our letterpress.

I have had this one on my to-do list for years! It was daunting trying to draw all the details, but it made me realize how incredible this landscape really is. You could truly never stop exploring in this part of the world. The entire map (including all the animals) was drawn from scratch.

This map is a big one! Printed on 18 x 24 inch 100% cotton paper in rich black ink. It will ship rolled in a tube. Message me if you would like it shipped flat and it can be arranged (for an extra fee).

We believe that the little things do add up to change the bigger whole so over the years we have prioritized making artwork in a sustainable fashion and getting it to the customer with the least amount of impact on the environment. As far as production goes we use low VOC ink and press cleaners/solvents. And in terms of shipping we have whittled down the amount of plastic we use and use locally sourced, biodegradable shipping materials.
