Japanese culture created a lot of mind and manual ability puzzles. One of them is Balancing Stones for kids, adults, and our dearest grandparents. You can never get bored of them as it has almost endless possibilities to build and create.

🪓We make them out of hardwoods of the world
🌳 Alder – orange wood, with brown spots like birch and visible shiny spots like maple. Light and soft, but in its own way unique. The lack of a distinct texture makes it a relatively calm wood despite its many distinctive characteristics.

🌳Ash – Texture similar to oak wood. Large pores, and the texture is clearly felt at the end of the nail. However, the color is significantly different: light brown, sometimes almost white. Hard and heavy wood. Ash stones, like oak stones, will be a great counterweight or base for any construction.

🌳Ayous – exotic African wood. It has small grooves in its structure. Annual growth rings are not visible, due to the year-round uniform growth process of the tree in the equatorial forest climate. It is very light, almost like styrofoam.

🌳Basswood – very soft and light wood with a light brown, sometimes yellowish-brown color. Ideal for carvers. It has a specific smell.

🌳Beech – wood mainly known as a raw material for kitchen utensils. It has regular dark specks. It is hard and quite heavy.

🌳Birch – light wood with a delicate texture. It has subtle brown spots that appear irregularly.

🌳Cherry – wood similar to cherry. It is warm-brown with spots ranging from red to dark browns. It has wide increments clearly visible as changes in the grain. It is very homogeneous, and items made from it look “light.”

🌳Elm – wood texture similar to ash. However, the color is definitely different. Light browns, but not as deep as in oak, mixed with greenish highlights. Sometimes it also has a metallic-coppery sheen.

🌳Khaya – a species native to Central Africa. It is soft and quite light, similar to alder. Its color is light brown with a subtle orange hue. The wood texture is distinct and characteristic of exotic wood.

🌳Maple – Light popular wood in a temperate climate. Almost white, sometimes with yellowish discolorations. On some cross-sections, it has visible cut rays that look like shiny spots. Beautifully complements and blends with almost any wood.

🌳Oak – noble, brown wood, ideal for building luxury furniture. The deep brown color is unique among other species.

🌳Pine – everyone knows pine. Clearly visible annual growth rings. Light brown (spring wood) and dark brown (autumn wood). Mainly known for various constructions: from roofs, through gazebos and other coverings, to furniture. The warm brown color of pine and sometimes occurring pink discolorations, for the variety of Scots pine (rather rare – not particularly specified).

🌳Red Oak – compared to “ordinary” oak, it has a less deep color. The wood is more pinkish, with significantly wider and clearly visible annual growth rings. However, it does not lack in hardness compared to its cousin.

🌳Spruce – similar to pine, but its color is slightly cooler. It also has less resin and more tiny knots, which give it “something special.”

✏️The wood rocks are good for kids 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝟑 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬 𝐨𝐥𝐝 to develop their 𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐝-𝐞𝐲𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧. Also good for elder to keep their hand-eye coordination and clever mind on a good level.

✏️Our main target was to create a possibility to fit the difficulty level to your skills or age of your child. You can try to build the towers in free ways: newbie, intermediate and impossible. Also the various shape of our stones ensure many ways to build different piles.

🐝🐝🐝The stones are finished with tung oil and bees wax. They are 100% environmental friendly and safe for people. To keep them in well condition remember to use some of natural oil (for example olive oil, linseed oil, tung oil, coconut oil) from time to time if you feel they are getting dry.

⚙️The rocks are sanded to has a smooth edge. The surface is not polished too much to provide some friction. The angles sometimes are getting uncomfortable to build so the friction is your friend here. It is not our goal to create stones that might frustrate.

✏️Size of the blocks is various. By buying you get a mix of sizes and species. Feel free to contact with us to fit your expectations. The average size is between 4-9cm (1,5"-3,5").
