The Chunky Blend is our unique, soil-less blend that has been thoughtfully customized specifically for aroids & other leafy, tropical houseplants. This mix is moisture-retentive, yet fast-draining and forgiving to overwatering. All nutrients are derived from organic sources to support healthy bioactivity within the soil.
No chemical fertilizers or wetting agents.
PEAT FREE.

The Chunky Blend is hand-mixed in small batches here on our farm in Southern Oregon. Each and every bag is filled to order so your product arrives to you at peak freshness! We source every single ingredient from a local, small business to further support our community. If you are located in the Grants Pass/Medford area, please reach out for local pickup at a discounted rate.

SIZING:
Please note that we measure by the DRY gallon (and then throw in a little extra, just because 😉). A customary gallon is 16 cups, whereas a dry gallon is 18.65 cups. Our gallon contains 20 cups.
1 quart = 5 cups of mix
1/2 gallon bag = 10 cups of mix
1 gallon bag = 20 cups of mix

BULK ORDERS:
We are now offering bulk orders of 1 cubic ft. - equivalent to 6 gallons / 120 cups.
Bulk orders will NOT be packaged in our original resealable pouches. Bulk soil will be shipped in one large bag. It is recommended that the excess be transferred to a sealable container after use. PLEASE NOTE PRIORITY SHIPPING IS NOT OFFERED FOR BULK ORDERS. IF PRIORITY SHIPPING IS PURCHASED WITH BULK ORDER IT WILL BE REFUNDED AND THE ORDER WILL BE SHIPPED STANDARD GROUND.

The heart of this blend! Coco is a wonderful, airy substrate that provides great drainage. Helps create an undesirable environment for fungus gnats.

COCO CHIPS, PERLITE, LECA
The 'CHUNKY' elements that boost oxygen in the soil, help retain moisture, and also aid in drainage to keep your roots happy.

EARTHWORM CASTINGS, COMPOST
The essentials that give this blend its macronutrients, micronutrients, and trace minerals. Derived from organic ingredients to maintain a healthy, bioactive base.

BIOCHAR
This workhorse helps retain nutrients and encourage good microbial growth, while also conditioning the soil to help prevent soil-borne diseases.
