Have a unique datapad that will compliment your best galactic attire without worrying about switching cases or losing wireless charging.
I make these using prop making techniques used in film, so each one will be unique and seem like a living piece of the Star Wars universe. Please keep in mind that these are not intended to offer protection for your phone and care should be taken to not drop the prop.
I was thinking about a different approach to the datapad. I love kitbashing, but it wouldn’t quite fit my character so I went with something that combined a droid data socket and some Imperial era panels. Then I thought “I like this, but I also like using MagSafe to charge my phone”. Then this idea hit. I made a prototype on my FDM printer that was pretty cool, but the detail just wasn't quite there. Now that I have a resin printer in the house I am able to print these with the high level of detail that any Star Wars fan can appreciate.
These are made to order. Right now they take about 6 hours to print due to the quality settings I use. Once printed, each datapad is sprayed with primer and let sit overnight as I find the best results happen when I don't rush the paint. Next the details are painted in and allowed to sit overnight. Then some weathering takes place and the datapad is then ready to ship. I'm still refining the process, but expect the order to ship approximately 1 week after purchase. Remember, these are handmade to order and each one will be a bit different. If you want to paint them yourself, just order the unpainted option and it will be sent out after it is printed and cured. If you want something custom like a rebel orange stripe down the middle, please select the "custom" option and let me know what you'd like.
I use a ABS-like resin mixed 80/20 with a more flexible resin to give it enough flex to handle normal use. I use a stupid strong MagSafe compatible magnet so it stays attached. It should stay on when you put it in your coat pocket or bag, however I'd recommend taking it off if you plan to put your phone in your back pocket. But hey, the point of this design is being able to easily take it on and off your phone.
This design is built to fit the regular and large sized iPhones (referred to as "Pro" and "Max" here), no "mini" at this point. They fit natively with MagSafe compatible models (iPhone12 and up), however, they also work with products intended to make earlier models MagSafe compatible.
