Wilderness Diamond Shelf Set: Laser Cut Cabin Decor (SVG & PDF)

The Wilderness Diamond Shelf Set is a woodland themed decor shelf template designed for laser cutting, specifically Glowforge. This set offers several different layers that can be mixed and matched to the maker's preference, creating a unique and customized woodland decor item. Please keep in mind, this shelf is not designed to support heavy objects, it is simply to display a couple light weight items, like any sconce size shelf. Depending on the layers selected this project will take ONE 11x19” sheet of 1/4” material for the shelf/Backer and ONE to TWO 11x19" sheets of 1/8” materials for the additional layers. All files are provided in SVG and PDF.

Suggested Hanging:
- >16lb command strips or screw in mounting hardware

The shelf is designed to include the Shelf Backer PLUS 1-3 top layers in the following options:

-Large Diamond Shape (10.8” x18” Physical size)

++++ Nested dimensions are different as the shapes are rotated so that both pieces fit on one piece of wood++++17 Backer options with pre-done slots for materials .09 to .25” in thickness. HOWEVER, I strongly recommend choosing materials closer to the thicker end of the spectrum for strength and stability. IF you choose to cut the backing and shelf layer from 1/8” materials you may consider doubling the backer and gluing the two layers together. Pictured is 1/4” Purebond Maple with the .19” slot.

This design offers all layers set with in a larger triangle and without. These layers can be mixed and matched with some having the triangular boarder and some not, it is personal preference. There are also several options for the second and third layers for both the top and bottom. Please use the infographics to help you choose your desired layers.

To Assemble
Measure your materials and choose the desired backer with appropriate slot size. I recommend using a slot sizer (Big Blue Laser has a great one) to identify the desired slot size for the fit you want. Print selected backer, preferably from 1/4” material for strength.
Select and print the combinations of layers to adorn your shelf. You can choose from the open or closed layers, mix and match. You do not have to use all 3 layers. Layer 1 and layer 3 together look great and take less materials. This might seem a little overwhelming due to all the possible combinations and alternatives. I suggest looking at the infographic to get a visual sense of what your options are.
Finish all pieces to your liking, allow to dry. Glue together with wood glue, CA glue (like a super glue) and clamp until dry if necessary.
Hang with command strips or hardware of choice. Only place LIGHT WEIGHT objects on shelf. It is designed to be decorative and lightly functional, not a work horse :).

Colorful layers:
DIY Unicorn Spit Spray
Mix 1/4” Unicorn spit and Isopropyl alcohol (70% or higher) into small 2.5oz craft spray bottles. Shake to combine. If more pigment is desired, add more Spit. Want it lighter, add more alcohol. Seal with tung oil or spray shellac
