Cupcaaaaake! I love cupcakes! Especially ones with yellow polka dotted cups, lots of icing and a cherry on top! They're so yummy and so adorable. I thought I'd show my admiration for a favorite sugary treat... by creating this fun and funky vintage looking cupcake rag doll.

I fashioned these modern vintage rag dolls in a folk art style to create an aura of days gone by. I scoured flea markets, fabric shops, and even cut up a few of my own garments to find the perfect combination of textiles that make these dolls come alive! Hand made with modern and vintage fabrics, antique buttons and baubles, silly mismatched arms and legs, freeform stitching and hand embroidery, each doll is distressed to look aged, worn and well-loved.... oh, and a little quirky!

Measures 9" high by 8" wide with the longest wonky leg measuring an additional 8.5".

Great pattern and surprisingly easy to make. I changed the fabric as muslin seemed too transparent and delicate. I used curtain lining fabric instead and it worked well. My Caroline & football mad daughter was so pleased with the result.
