"Time flies!" That's what you will say with all the fun you are having admiring Tempus Fugit, your new piece of wall art made of found objects: a vintage hardwood shoe horn from an estate sale; a shattered watch face that I actually paid money for at the Georgetown Flea Market with a handful of other treasures; and a handmade cast brass statue that I think is from the Dogon tribe in Africa (I really wanted the brass grave marker but it was $3,000). It also has the real, true wings of a cardinal cruelly procured by my otherwise lovable cat Sunny, left in the shed to break my heart and pique my artistic curiosity (yes, for the smart alecks out there, I put the wings in the freezer for a bit). You'll see a bit of red ribbon hand-woven in Serbia from my trip in 2001 when I learned at 18 words and phrases in Serbian, including "ketchup," which is the same word in English and Serbian but still totally counts. Finally, hanging from the toe is a little gold-tone tassel from my friend Cassandra's high school bracelet that she got engraved "Cass & Jim." Sadly, Cass & Jim wasn't 4-EVA, but your enjoyment of Tempus Fugit will be.
