Not food safe. The bags had a peculiar smell and upon inspection they all had pieces of white plastic residue inside them. Customer service said this was from the zipper and that they would be making changes in the future. They issued a refund, which I appreciate, but I don't feel confident buying from them again. For reference: "After examining the issue, it turns out the residue isn't a white powder or glue; it's excess material from the zipper seal. When the bag is opened, this residue from the zipper lock mechanism falls into the bag. Regardless, it is not safe for use with food packaging. Therefore, we will be making changes to the product."
