PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE DESCRIPTION BEFORE PURCHASING:

This listing is available painted or as a DIY kit.

Measurements:

Approximately 8.25 inches tall.

Approximately 5 inches wide.


For Painted:

The Santa gnome is hand-painted using a mixture of acrylic paints. His body is painted red and his hat is red with white polka dots. His stand and shoes are painted black. Santa's beard and mustache are painted white. He is holding a gingerbread man, a gift, and peppermint. The sign is painted red and white stripes and says the North Pole at the top. It is painted red with white polka dots. The green sign says Santas Workshop, the blue sign says Reindeer Games, and the pink sign says Elf Village. There are three white snowflakes on him.

Since he is hand painted, no two are the same. The finished gnome stands approximately 8.25 inches tall and is approximately 5 inches wide. This would make a great addition to any gnome collector. He can be placed on a shelf or table or even beside your coffee bar. The gnome is sealed with a high gloss sealer and is intended for indoor use only. Since he is sealed with a spray sealer, there may be a slight odor when opening the package. This odor will go away after sitting out.


FOR THE DIY KIT:

*The kit is unfinished and unassembled. The small x-round pieces are to be placed under his hands. Place the shoes candy cane pole down first and then add the piece with his hands. The bottom of the pole will fit against his shoes. You may have to place the x-round between the beard and pole for the left side. If needed lightly sand the area where I taped the pieces together. Pieces can be fragile and should be handled with care. The stand should fit snugly. If you are a heavy painter, the area where you attached the stand may need to be lightly sanded to fit into the stand.

The DIY kit does not contain glue, paint, or brushes. You will need to assemble the item by using glue like super glue, E6000, or stick-fast adhesive glue. For smaller items, I use super glue and for larger pieces, I use E6000.

Acrylic and chalk paints seem to work the best for me. The item can be painted using brushes or even inexpensive make-up sponges. I have used both in my painting classes and in painting my items. These are laser-cut items. You can expect some dark edges or char marks that can be sanded away or can be painted over them. Being that they are laser-cut there will be a burnt wood smell.


Material:

Each layer is cut from 1/8 inch (3mm) MDF.

Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF Board) is a wood material prepared by separating the softwood or hardwood residuals into the wood fibers, frequently in a defibrillator, wax mixing and forming a shape-like a panel by using high pressure and temperature. It is an engineered wood product and has a smooth surface with no voids, knots, or splinters. MDF is moisture-resistant, not water-resistant, nor waterproof, and is still prone to swelling and warping if in direct contact with the elements.
