How do I clean my molds without scratching them?

Use masking tape to lift out lint without scratching the mold. Try not to touch the inside of the mold when dry. Soap and water if needed.

What kind of silicone do we use?

We use Platinum Cure Silicone with a 20 shor hardness. It is translucent enough to allow UV light to pass through, which allows you to use these molds for UV resin also.

Can I use these molds for low-temp casting or polymer clay?

Yes! You can bake polymer clay in these molds, and you can cast some low-melt temp alloy mediums. Be aware, the mold won't be ideal for resin after used for these uses. Best to have one for each medium. ie polymer clay, low temp melt metals, wax and soap, concrete

Use these US States Resin Molds to create your own stunning pieces made out of resin, concrete, wax, or soap.

Finished pieces made with these molds measure between 1.4 - 1.75 inches long, and 0.25 inches thick.

For Alaska and Hawaii, which are engraved, I pour and demold the item first, then use paint pens to paint the details after it's hardened. It's much easier to do this one after you demold, not before.

Check out the tips below on how to care for your molds:

● Do not use a torch to pop bubbles while resin is in the mold, this will dramatically shorten the lifespan of silicone.
● Clean molds gently with running water and your fingertips only.
● Do not scratch or rub repeatedly as it can wear away the shiny finish and make that spot matte.
● Avoid using alcohol or baby wipes to clean the molds, and don't touch the inside of the mold with your fingers, as it may smudge.
● To remove lint or hair from the mold, carefully use masking tape to lift it out without leaving a mark on the mold.
● Heat, alcohol, and abrasive resins can shorten the lifespan of any silicone mold.
● It's best to pour a thin layer of clear and let it cure either all the way or mostly, before using things like dried flowers, chunky glitter, or other inclusions. This gives a protective layer so you don't have anything poking thru the front, and gives a nice sleek finish. Doing the clear layer first makes glitter really pop also.
