Inspired by the Japanese boro technique and sashiko stitching, I created this artsy little purse by slow-stitching repurposed samples of designer fabrics from my stash. You can make your own version using the instructions here.

Easy to make using simple stitches, this project is suitable for beginners but satisfying enough for more advanced stitchers.

You will receive 11 pages of clear, easy-to-follow step-by-step instructions with color photos.

The finished purse measures approximately 9x5.5" (229x140mm)

Additionally, you will need:

Denim or heavier-weight cotton larger than 9x14"
Silk or silk/linen/cotton blend larger than 9x14"
Linen and cotton fabrics, other snippets for patching
10 yards of thick sashiko cotton thread
10 yards of thin sashiko cotton thread
1 skein of embroidery floss
Beads
A length of cord
2 buttons
A sashiko sewing needle
Scissors
