We pulled out all the stops on this one. These are pure, handmade castile soaps of the highest possible quality. Our castile soap bars are not made in a factory somewhere - they are rustic and wonderfully handcrafted, shaped and poured in small batches by the BeeTheLight crew here in Harrisonburg, Virginia. We believe in knowing where our products come from and understanding the supply chain that connects them to us. BeeTheLight Castile soaps are made from 100% fair trade and organic oils.

As far as we can tell, this is currently the only castile soap on the market that uses exclusively certified fair trade oils. Historically, true castile soap bars such as these would have countless uses in the home – everything from body wash to dish soap to the all-purpose home cleaning solution. Our soaps are mild and wonderful as a hand soap or face wash. These old-fashioned beauties are truly for any and all purposes! Boycott plastics and return to the good ol' bar soap!

Our story
After we got married, we knew we wanted to do something that was GOOD for people. Whatever we did, we wanted it to generate funds for humanitarian work and to honor our community, and everyone in the supply chain from the raw materials all the way to the folks who end up with the product. When we met, Daniel was living at a wonderful off-the-grid-in-the-city hospitality house and experimenting in ecological living. There was no electrical lighting in the house, so every night they lit up the beeswax candles, not just for fun or ambiance! It was a powerful and inspiring season of our life, and later, when we were thinking of things we could do that met our vision, beeswax candles came to mind. We got on craigslist and found a local beekeeper who was selling it by the block it worked, so we added soap and other products... and the rest is history!
