This pattern creator is the best!! She is quick to answer question even though we live on different continents, was patient and helpful! The pattern itself (wisteria) comes a giant file but don’t be scared because this seller has on page 2 all the details of which pages to print for whatever dress you want to make! So it’s like a choose your own adventure, pick the sleeve you want, the length etc.. and away you print! I’ve found through experience with lots of digital files that the best way to set up the pattern is to use a paper cutter. Then you get really nice clean edges and it likes up better. I’ll be cutting and sewing the pattern tonight and am excited!! The instructions are really straight forward! Overall I’d purchase again from this pattern designer!
This is a beautiful pattern! I would consider myself an advanced beginner sewer and the instructions were super easy to follow. I tweaked the pattern just a little: I did a zipper up the back and lengthened both the bodice and skirt. We're a tall family, but even still I felt the pattern ran a bit short. If you opt for the tiered skirt, be prepared to wrangle a LOT of fabric. That said, it is the TWIRLIEST dress and we've received tons of compliments on the dresses. I'll definitely be making more from this pattern.
Loved the way my bf daughter dress turned out
Now that I have finished my girls dresses, I have some recommendations for future customers. 1. Buy extra fabric! I thought I got enough but because of the different fabric width, I ended up going back 3 times for extra. 2. Plan to spend the first day printing and taping the pattern together. Literally! 3. The strap instructions were a little weird so I ended up making them too short but just went with it. I added loops to the bodice for added support in the back. 4. I wanted to be fancy so I did three layers on the ruffles and oof, was that a bad idea. Over all, a great project for anyone, even a beginner!
