Materials: walnut, ebony, curly walnut

This chair is made of walnut. The seat and headrest are curly and the rest is straight grained. The seat is one of the nicest pieces of figured walnut that we have seen in a while. There are a few small pieces of ebony for contrast. The chair is jointed up and then carved with spoke shaves, rasps, and sandpaper. The chair is gorgeous........and it's even more comfortable than it is beautiful. If you have a "bad back" this chair is for you. The finish is six coats of blends of polyurethane, oil and wax, all hand rubbed to a gorgeous sheen.

The craftsmanship exceeds highest expectations. Beautiful, functional, strong and light. I've given a few as presents to veteran friends with various disabilities, and they love them.
