About:
This pottery is hand-fired with green sand clay in a high-temperature firewood kiln. Wood-fired is an ancient Chinese kiln burning technique using pine wood as fuel. Firing the kiln takes three to five days or even several times. When the temperature is as high as 1200℃ to 1300℃, the trace minerals and pine resin in the wood ash will be attached to the surface of the pottery blank with the flame, which forms a natural ash glaze (not artificially adding glutinous material).

The firewood burning process makes the pottery surface show rich colors and unpredictable kiln changes, which shows simplicity, natural texture, and unique artistic characteristics. If the cup is used as a tea set, it will become brighter and glossy, which is the difference between firing in an electric kiln or a liquefied gas kiln. The unpredictability and contingency of the wood-burning process show its characteristics. Therefore each piece of wood-fired pottery is a unique natural work.

* Please understand that woodfired pottery artwork can't be perfect as electric firing pottery: it may have some cracks on the surface and little kiln slag on the bottom.
