Cryptid #1 - Mothman

On November 15, 1966, two young couples from Point Pleasant, West Virginia, went for a scenic drive outside of town … near a former WWII munitions plant. What they saw in the headlights that night had them running quickly for the police. Over the next few days several people sighted the cryptid with the seven foot wingspan whose red eyes glowed “like bicycle reflectors”. The local papers reported the following - “Couples See Man-Sized Bird … Creature … Something.” Was Mothman a cryptid, alien, or World War II era government experiment? We may never know.

Cryptid #2 - The Jersey Devil

This legendary creature is said to inhabit the dark forest of Pine Barrens in South Jersey. Its origins are shrouded in historic gossip. Some say that in 1735 a woman, finding herself pregnant for a thirteenth time, cursed the child and thus a creature with hooves, a goat’s head, and bat wings was born! Joseph Bonaparte, elder brother of Napoleon, is also claimed to have seen the Jersey Devil while hunting on his Bordentown estate about 1820, and sightings have occurred in the centuries since, up to and including the modern day. The New Jersey Devils hockey team takes their moniker from this beast.

Cryptid #3 - Yeti

Also known as "The Abominable Snowman,” this ape-like cryptid calls the Himalayan mountain range its home. While lore states that its fur colour varies from black, to reddish-brown, to white, the one thing that cryptid experts can all agree on is that the yeti is not a creature you want to antagonize, mainly on account of its large, sharp teeth.

Cryptid #4 - Roswell Aliens

On July 8, 1947, the Roswell Army Air Field issued a press release stating that they had recovered a “flying disc.” This hot release was quickly retracted, with the army declaring that the unknown crashed object was simply a normal weather balloon. This event became known as the Roswell Incident of 1947 … and the rumours of flying saucers and alien autopsies persists to this very day.
