FIRST, the AS-IS part:
1. There are black stains, almost like when a pen bursts in your bag - they are primarily throughout the cup lining, but some can be faintly seen on the exterior of the cups - like on the tie band between the cups. The shiny lastex fabric is a great camouflage, but they are there.
2. Above the gusset, where the panty attaches to the liner (beneath the modesty panel), the outer fabric has pulled away from the lining. This can be re-sewn, but will make a difference if your measurements push the stretch of the swimsuit. Further up, in the lining of the pants, there is a small hole - again, covered by the skirted panel.
3. It would make sense that originally this had a way to attach the straps to the backside, either straight or criss-crossed. There are buttons on the ends of the straps, however, there is nowhere to button them. I think this wears lovely as a halter, and, with a bit of work, someone could attach appropriate button holes.
This suit is spectacular, small and with flaws. I would recommend maximum bust of 34" and maximum hips of 36" - anywhere you add curves, it will shorten the length. I think with the given measurements, 5'4" is the maximum height, but a more petite person could have more wiggle room with curves. Hips over 36" and you will struggle to get in and out of this, plus there is that repair under the skirt that needs attention!
Measurements are of the actual garment, not of a body. When possible to estimate, we will give "best fit" measurements. It is always recommended to have your measurements taken by an experienced tailor. To compare your own garment to that of the shown vintage, do NOT stretch, many older vintage garments have very little stretch or wiggle room. If you are particularly tall or petite, you may want to write for different ratio measurements. I base the ratios of my measurements on my own "average" size, 5'4". When possible, I try on a garment to check where certain hit spots are - such as an under bust on an originally juniors item may be narrower than an average woman's rib cage or under bust, or the shoulder seam placement, as that varies from era to era. Someone who is taller or knows that their torso is longer (or has a fuller bosom) may want to check the shoulder to waist ratio, which is not commonly added.
