This is an oversized afghan square but could also be used as a pillow or a bag or anything else you can come up with! Originally this square was created as part of my '2020 Holiday Squares eBook' bundle. The chart was 81 x 81 to fit with the other patterns in the set. The bottom part of the star was cropped to fit into that chart size. An updated chart where the full star is shown on a chart size of 81 x 87 was created later and is available here in both techniques.
**So you will have four files**:
- the interlocking pattern & a one-page chart (81 x81)
- the overlay mosaic pattern (including instructions for an envelope border) and an X-marked chart (81 x 81)
- the updated interlocking pattern and chart (81 x 87)
- the updated mosaic pattern and X-marked chart (81 x 87)
_________
The Locked Filet Mesh (LFM) interlocking crochet method uses only chain spaces and double crochets to create a mesh; two colors are worked alternately which creates the pattern.
Mosaic crochet is single crochet and double crochet stitches. The double crochet stitches cover some of the other color's single crochet stitches to create the design. My patterns instruct you to cut your yarn at the end of each row. The back is striped but often gives a faint impression of the pattern on the front (sort of like illusion knitting).

I have YouTube tutorials available for both crochet methods! Follow this link to get to my YouTube channel and find my other social links: https://ashleeslint.com/link-in-bio
