Please note that in order to set the square accurately against your guide rail we recommend using a 7" or 12" speed square. We designed this part with play to accommodate any variations in manufacturing. You can push the part against the rail with your thumb and lock it in but we recommend using a speed square. So yes...there is play...it is normal. You can see in the video it takes me no time whatsoever to lock it in at 90 on my guide rail and the 90 degree picture in the listing was taken after I shot the video of this listing. So with that being said...

A customer reached out to me asking if we could make a rail square that would fit in the top channel of his Festool guide rail as opposed to the bottom. He wanted a lip to put material against...like a sliding fence but at the front of the guide rail. So this is what we came up with. This is designed not to bottom out when your guide rail is on (3/4)", 19mm, material. I've tried it using (1/2)", 12mm, material and it didn't bottom out BUT the bottom foam strips are newer so if you have an older rail it may bottom out on your supporting material for your (1/2)" material. So it may or may not bottom out on (1/2)"-12mm material.

With the knobs being where they are are...my TSC55 did bottom out on the locking knobs. I was making a plunge and the saw bottomed out around the 50mm mark. Not a big deal to me because I mostly cut 19mm material but wanted to be 100% transparent with this part.

Accessories are print-to-order. Guide rail and saw not included...just the LockingRailSquare-TM™, 2 knobs, and 2 nuts.
