A Louvre museum resin reproduction of the original work.
Some information about this statue. This statue of a woman is one of the rare examples of civil statuary in bronze, and moreover, it is of a large size, which is not very common. Although bronzes are known to date from the Middle Kingdom (c. 2060-1786 BC), it was not until the Late Period and especially during Dynasty XXII that the art of bronze-making was affirmed, as can be seen from the numerous small statuettes representing deities.
This woman, standing in the attitude of walking, wears a short curly wig and a tight-fitting dress; her forms are reminiscent of Old Kingdom art, which is a characteristic of this period.
The body and wig were cast in one piece using the "lost wax" technique; the arms, cast separately and then assembled, have disappeared.
This Paris Louvre museum reproduction is made from resin and dates from the late 1990s.
