These are great for home organization, office shelves, or displaying your records. The shelves are modular, so you can combine different heights to create your own design, such as a living room entertainment center. The hinged shelf brackets are an amazingly simply design, which allow the use of various width boards. No hardware is required, because the hinged shelf simply opens, locking the sleek aluminum tube into place against your wood.

Very Important details:

If you use 3/4" thick lumber, you will have 13" clear space per shelf.

When using 11 3/4" wide boards, each hinged shelf bracket requires 4 feet of lumber. Two hinged shelf brackets require 8 feet of lumber. Three require 12 feet, etc. If you use wider boards, this space requirement will be less. If you use more narrow boards, this space requirement will be longer.

I do recommend anchoring these to the wall if you have small children, or if you get the 3 shelf unit or taller. Ultimately, the stability depends on the width of board that you choose, so you as the builder are responsible for testing out your specific installation with the board width that you choose for your project design. FYI, TV stand straps often have a large enough hole that can be used with the hinge bolts. You can also anchor into your wooden boards or strap around the metal frame. I do not provide a wall anchor kit.
