Headband for women made from 100% yak wool is a great everyday companion for cold days. My products are made in Mongolia. Since the Mongolian yak live in the mountainous regions, they have to cope with extreme weather conditions between 30°C to -50°C. Yak wool therefore stores heat, regulates temperature and is breathable. The bovids, which weigh up to 500 kg, impress with their massive bodies and calm and social disposition. Approximately 300g of hair can be combed out of a yak per year and processed into yak yarn. In addition, yak wool is a natural product that can be obtained in an environmentally friendly manner and is 100% ecological.
Traditional herd husbandry in Mongolia does not require stable housing. The nomadic life is based on the herd animals and their welfare. After the winter, the wool of the animals is combed out by the individual shepherds and transported to the looms for further processing.
