The light sapphire blue in these artisan lampwork "lantern" earrings is gorgeous. The handwrought earwires are a perfect compliment and hypo-allergenic.

♦ MEASUREMENTS: From the top of the earwire to the bottom of the drop: 40mm or about 1-3/4 inches. (25.4mm = 1 inch)

♦ MATERIALS: Handmade blue, almost periwinkle lampwork crystal "lantern" beads, black glass rondelles and coordinating seed beads. All are securely wrapped on oxidized sterling headpins and hung from 20-gauge black niobium paddle earwires, which are hypo-allergenic...niobium in an inert metal.

♦ MISCELLANEOUS: These earrings remind me of the colorful paper lanterns I see in the shops of San Francisco's Chinatown. Because the beads have a white core, the "lanterns" appear to glow as if lit by a tiny candle. They are available in blue, aqua, green, amber, red and teal (pictured in the fourth photo) here:
