What materials do you use? Is your furniture safe for children?

Our furniture is crafted primarily from high-quality Baltic birch plywood, selected for its strength, durability, and beautiful natural appearance. Safety is an important part of our design process. Our children's furniture is designed with smooth surfaces, sturdy construction, and child-friendly proportions. For applicable products and markets, we also maintain product safety documentation, including CE and CPC certificates. Natural variations in wood grain, texture, and tone are normal and make each piece unique.

Is your furniture handmade?

Yes! Wood & Room is a small-batch furniture maker, not a mass-production factory. Our furniture is made, inspected, and packed by real people with attention to craftsmanship and detail. Because we work with natural wood, slight variations in grain, texture, and tone are part of the handmade character of each piece.

How do I choose the right size? Can you make custom sizes?

Dimensions and specifications are provided in each individual Etsy listing. Before ordering, we recommend measuring your available space and comparing it with the listed dimensions. For children's furniture, consider your child's age, height, and how you'll use the furniture. Many of our Montessori-inspired designs encourage independence and child-level accessibility. We can also customize selected products, including custom dimensions, personalization, configurations, and certain color or finish options. Please contact us before ordering to discuss your request.

How long does it take to prepare my order?

Most orders are prepared within approximately 1–5 business days, depending on the product, personalization, and current production volume. Because our furniture is handcrafted in small batches rather than mass-produced, personalized or custom pieces may sometimes require additional preparation time. Where do you ship from and how long does delivery take?

Depending on the product, availability, and destination, orders may ship from our fulfillment locations in Europe or the United States. Will I have to pay customs duties or import fees?

For orders delivered to the USA, Canada, Australia, EU, and UK, there are no additional customs fees, tariffs, or payments required upon delivery. For other destinations, customs and import requirements may vary. If you're unsure about your country, please contact us before ordering and we'll be happy to help.

What if there is a problem with my order? Do you accept returns?

If your order arrives damaged, a part is missing, or something isn't right, please contact us as soon as possible with your order number and photos. We'll review the issue and work with you to find the appropriate solution. Standard non-personalized items may be eligible for return according to our shop policies. Personalized and custom-made items are generally non-returnable, except where required by applicable law or in the case of a qualifying product issue. Does the furniture arrive assembled? Is assembly easy?

Because furniture is a large and oversized product, our pieces are carefully flat-packed and shipped unassembled. This helps protect the furniture during transportation and allows for safer and faster delivery. Assembly is designed to be simple and straightforward. Your package includes all necessary screws and hardware, a screwdriver or assembly tool where applicable, and step-by-step assembly instructions. If a part, hardware piece, or instruction is accidentally missing, please contact us. Since our furniture is handcrafted and packed in small batches, rare packing errors can happen, and we'll arrange to send the missing item as quickly as possible.
