This statue of Apollo is made of clay.
Apollo, byname Phoebus, in Greco-Roman mythology, a deity of manifold function and meaning, one of the most widely revered and influential of all the ancient Greek and Roman gods. Though his original nature is obscure, from the time of Homer onward he was the god of divine distance, who sent or threatened from afar; the god who made men aware of their own guilt and purified them of it; who presided over religious law and the constitutions of cities; and who communicated with mortals through prophets and oracles his knowledge of the future and the will of his father, Zeus (Roman: Jupiter). Even the gods feared him, and only his father and his mother, Leto (Roman: Latona), could easily endure his presence. He was also a god of crops and herds, primarily as a divine bulwark against wild animals and disease, as his Greek epithet Alexikakos (Averter of Evil) indicates. His forename Phoebus means “bright” or “pure,” and the view became current that he was connected with the Sun.
I depicted the main attributes of Apollo - the lyre, the bow and arrows. It is 3 cm wide and 8 cm high. The sculpture is made of natural clay. It is fired at a temperature of 1200 degrees.
I make these statuettes to order. Therefore, they may differ minimally from those that you see in the photo. But the differences are really minimal. Handicraft makes sculptures special, unique and, as a result - art.

These are fantastic clay figurines and all six (6) share the same review: Mother Goddess and Cernunnos set, Brigid, Apollo, Gaia, and Zeus. I typically don't add pictures to my reviews, but I wanted others to see what my “set” looks like. They are well-made and as described. These handmade items are lightweight but are evenly balanced and level. The care and attention to detail is well-done and worth the wait. The figurines were packaged well to assure they arrived safely and undamaged. The size is perfect for small altars especially when space is limited and it's terrific for travel use.
