Gold antique cross with a Roman micromosaic depicting a fly or similar flying insect. The loop for the chain is oval, wide. A good example of Victorian style jewelry.
CONDITION – There was a repair, some parts of the mosaic were re-inserted. On the backsides the inserts have small chips.
SIZE / MEASUREMENTS – Size with a loop - 4.8x2.9 cm
Weight - 4.1 g
YEAR - late 19th century
METAL / MATERIAL – gold is tested with a reagent; the purity of gold is about 375 (9ct gold)
