This sculptural ceramic vase is shaped slowly by hand, creating a calm rounded form with a quiet sculptural presence.
A soft green glaze flows across the surface like a fluid brushstroke. During the glazing process the piece is dipped and moved by hand, allowing natural gestures and subtle variations to appear. Because of this process, every piece develops its own unique glaze movement.
The surface may also preserve subtle finger marks from handling during glazing — traces of the handmade process often embraced in Japanese ceramic traditions.
Its closed form and small opening move the piece beyond function into the realm of a sculptural object, designed for shelves, consoles or quiet interior spaces.
Inspired by Wabi-Sabi aesthetics and contemporary studio pottery, the piece celebrates material honesty, imperfection and the quiet beauty of handmade ceramics.
