FIQUE FIBER (PREMIUM SISAL)

Fique is one of the most durable and strong natural fibers, same as Sisal but thinner, tougher than jute, shinnier and more flexible. It’s similar to the Agave plant in its appearance.

The fique plant has been historically grown mostly to produce fiber that was then woven into rough sacks to store and carry coffee and cacao beans, similar to jute sacks.

The plant grows in the Andean regions.
Fique fiber is Sustainable, it requires small amounts of water and it doesn’t need any pesticide or chemical to grow.

Clean with a vacuum cleaner or shake out regularly. Do not pull loose ends, clip them with scissors to remove. Spot clean with mild soap and water. Always allow to air dry and never place your mat on a damp floor.

Use it in a sheltered entryway. Do not wash in washing machine or dry clean. It’s possible that during the first wash, the mat could release some of it’s color which may be normal. Shedding will dissipate after a few weeks of use.
