A Beautiful guide to British birds featuring my hand felted birds turned into beautiful illustrations. At the beginning of 2022 I set out on a journey to create over 100 needle felted seagulls and in this time I learned so much about gulls and created so many beautiful images that I felt they deserved their own lovely book.

The book has chapters on all 6 of the most common Gull visitors to British shores as well as chapters about other bird visitors to our coast including Gannets, Puffins, Razorbills and many more. As well as some personal observations about the challenges gulls face cohabiting with humans.

Everyone has their own Gull story as we often come into conflict with these cheeky seaside visitors, be it a poop attack or having our chips stolen but there is some much more to these amazing creatures than this.

This book would make a great gift for bird nerds and felt fans alike, perfect as a stocking filler.

Your bird will be packaged in a Kraft gift box stuffed with pretty shredded tissue paper for protection and stamped with the Feltmeupdesigns logo. Gift wrapping is available free of charge upon request, just message me when purchasing.

We post all our birds in sturdy boxes made from recycled materials. Where ever possible I try to recycle packaging to help the environment and to keep postal costs down. Please reuse your packaging and help save a tree!

Please message me for details on custom orders, generally custom work takes 7- 10 days to make. I take payment up front on all custom orders but I send photos for approval before shipping so details can be tweaked.

Please note I only make birds, if I am unable to make a custom item I will let you know ASAP, please do not take offense if I am unable to make your custom request, I am just one woman. I may be unable to accept custom orders at peak times like Christmas.

I ship standard first class delivery from the UK. Birds are always dispatched within 3 days of purchase and if there are going to be delays I always message to advise of this.

Typically it takes 10-14 days internationally but allow up to 4 weeks to arrive as customs can be tricky and please allow plenty of time for your order to come, especially if its for a special occasion.

Your order will be shipped within 3 days of purchase, typically items are shipped first class post, average shipping times are:
UK: 5-7 days
Europe: 5-10 days
International: 10-14 days

The service does not provide tracking but you will receive notification when your item is shipped. If you have not received your order with in 25 days please contact me.

Birds are delicate in nature and do not like water, because of the processes used wetting and rubbing will damage your bird, surface clean only and be very gentle. Birds are not toys even though they look cute they are not made for children... in the event of a toddler attack I do offer a repair service. Please message me for details.

Really lovely book, just what I needed. It so good to see a book like this, that actually shows how beautiful Gulls are. I intend to buy another book at the weekend, as a Christmas present for my Friend who runs Bird Aid, which is the only charity that is dedicated to the care and rehabilitation of sick and injured Gulls and their babies. So just to say again, I love everything about the book, it's excellent quality and the pictures are great. Thank you

This is a great little book. It's full of Felt Me Up Designs character (and quite a bit of its author's character). The felty "gulls" are brilliant and the text gives information in a way that's interesting and fun, but not boring. I know more about sea birds now and want to find out about them and help with conservation. Well done Mel, it's a fab book and I love it!
