This plant gives a very strong yellow and beautiful green when over-dyed with indigo.
The whole plant is used when extracting the dye. Pericón is widely used throughout Mexico and Central America not only for its strong dye color but also as a medicinal plant, tea, and culinary herb. It is also known as Mexican Tarragon. It has an anise-like scent.
Just 1 ounce of the dried plant will dye 6-8 ounces of pre-mordanted goods.
