Are the patterns beginner friendly?

Yes, all of the patterns are beginner friendly and do not require any special skills. As with any art or craft, the finished result will depend on adherence to the instructions, quality of materials used and practice to hone your skills. Some good dolls to begin with are the embroidered bear doll, embroidered bunny doll or the elephant doll. But in saying that, they are all very fun and easy, my instructions are very detailed, and the tutorials have lots of photos showing each step.

What fabric is best for making the dolls?

I have found that the best fabrics to use for my dolls is Essex linen or a high-quality homespun cotton. My favorite brands are Robert Kaufman or Devonstone Fabrics. If you are having trouble locating fabric you can always contact me via Etsy messaging, and I am happy to point you in the right direction.

What equipment is needed to make the dolls?

There is no fancy or hard to find equipment needed to make the dolls, however you will need a sewing machine. Most of the other items you will more than likely already have if you are already into sewing and craft. Here is a list of things I use: Iron and ironing board Measuring tape Air erasable fabric marker - available on E-bay and most sewing stores Black biro Fabric scissors and pinking shears if you have them Pop-stick for stuffing or small length of doweling from your hardware store Pins - regular and applique pins if you have them. Safety pin Fine surgical forceps for turning body pieces - available on Amazon or on Ebay Embroidery needles and long doll making needle Manicure stick or something pointed to help turn the limbs

Are the dolls suitable for young children and babies?

The dolls made from my patterns are strictly not for children under three years of age.
