Unless otherwise stated, all my copper pieces come uncoated and will tarnish over time. If you do not wish this to happen I would recommend cleaning with a toothbrush and acidic cleaner such as vinegar, lemon juice or tomato ketchup(!). If you want to prevent the tarnish, a layer of clear lacquer or clear nail varnish on both sides should do the trick.

How many needles do you get through?

Not as many as you'd expect! I've had needles break in ten minutes, and my record for one needle was about a month. I've considered setting up a shrine to it.
